- Get rid of the things you don't need.

- Get to know the Ground Rules including the rule of getting to know how much a thing is worth by asking yourself: 'Would you try to save it if the house on fire?"
- Your kitchen is a food preparation area, not a storage space. Organize your area into an efficient and functional kitchen.
- If you can't finish the mail, don't start the mail.
- Get rid of the clothes that don't fit or are out of fashion.
- If you don't have time to put your photos in an album or scrapbook, it's okay to stop pretending you're going to do it.
- Sell or donate any inherited useless items.
- Clear up your back seat and your trunk.
- Clean your desktop and organise your files into directories.
