Empowering and Connecting Orange County and Los Angeles Moms and Families

Have you ever wondered how those models in skin-core ads have these flawless skin? Looks perfect! Some of the best make-up artists revealed that there is a "trick" to improve one's countenance.

Sonya Dakar, a Beverly Hills-based aesthetician who tends to the faces of celebrities, says that six weeks before the shoot, she starts performing a series of weekly infrared light treatments. These stimulate collagen production, decreasing the look of fine lines and wrinkles for the next month.

Dakar prefers them to lasers and chemical peels because they don't use any heat, so her clients don't have to worry about burning or irritation.
For Patricia Wexler, a New York City dermatologist, suggests that her model clients put a humidifier in their hotel or bedrooms. A rubdown also counts as it brings color to the skin and helps relax the muscles. More techniques for a more velvety skin...!

Let's not forget the wonderful world of computer enhanced photo editing! While close up shots are harder to touch up, it is still done. The ironic thing is, for someone like myself with extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin, if I tried even one of the things listed above, my face would look like a turkey neck (whatever that thing is called)! Well I guess that's why I'm not the one flaunting my pores up close and personal!
