Empowering and Connecting Orange County and Los Angeles Moms and Families

Almost everyone, especially parents, have heard of the urban stories about child abuse from the hands of some daycare provider or some other daycare services. Of course, as concerned and loving parents, you wouldn't want your precious children to become victims of these terrible parent replacements. It is fortunate that you can do measures to ensure that this will never befall your children to the best of your abilities.

There are numerous things to consider and you will have to weigh them accordingly before you give your children to the hands of some stranger. Here are some topics and issues that you would want to ponder on when deciding your own daycare provider.

Regardless of whether you are planning to hire someone to take care of your children or are planning to drop them off at a local daycare service, you have to make sure that the people taking care of your children are of U.S. Citizenship and have all the necessary legal papers to work in the U.S.

If you are planning on taking them to a daycare center, then it would also be prudent to consider the location of the center if it is near your home or not. It would be more convenient for you if it is just a few blocks away from your home or work place rather than somewhere far off.

You should also consider your children's feelings in deciding. Are they the type who enjoy a lot of kids accompanying them or would they rather have just a few children with them when playing?

Also, it would be wise to ask some of your friends and neighbors if they know of a good daycare service. Referrals from trusted people will ensure that the place you are planing to leave your kids is trustworthy and has been proven to be good by people you know. Of course, you can always call Childcare Aware Hotline (800) 424-2246 to look for a local provider near your area. They will refer you to the nearest licensed and certified daycare service provider.

After deciding on whether you want the daycare near your home or work, then choose three daycare services among your list and do some research on them. From here on you can prioritize which service you would like based on the information you gathered.

Then again, if you are planning for an in home daycare provider, you should think about the age of the person taking care of your children. You would certainly have an easier time talking to someone near your age so it would be best if you get someone you easily have rapport with.

There are still a lot of things to consider when trying to choose your particular daycare service provider suitable to your needs. But always keep in mind the safety of children above anything else. Then comes convenience on all the parties involved, and of course one must never forget the wants and needs of your children. They are, of course, the most important people in this deal since they are the primary clients of the daycare services.
